Do you want to see a change in the way we understand and treat each other in our communities? The social movements of 2020 showed us that although it has been nearly 60 years since Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, we are still a long way from his sacred vision. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) issues are embedded in every part of our lives—home and family, work, community organizations, faith-based organizations, medical care, and the list goes on. However, too often, DEI discussions only focus on the workplace. DEI literacy, confidence, and tools are needed in all areas of our lives.
With the Holistic DEI Speaker Series, our mission is to build unity through open and respectful discussions, discourse, and understanding around DEI issues that impact us at home, in the community, and in the workplace. We want to empower people at home, at work, and in the community to think holistically about equity and to become effective leaders.

About The Organizers
From 2007 to 2011, Dr. Sangeeta Gupta and Mariah Hayden founded and served as co-directors for the Diversity and Cross-Cultural Leadership Summit in partnership with the Professionals in Human Resources Association hosted at Long Beach State University. The annual summit built a DEI community where individuals could learn from each other. The Summit was very well attended, and it was also sponsored by major corporations. Nearly a decade later, Dr. Gupta and Mariah Hayden are joining forces again to create a community of collaboration where we can all learn and grow together.
Dr. Sangeeta R. Gupta is the president and lead consultant for Gupta Consulting Group. Dr. Gupta is a globally-recognized expert with more than 25 years of experience in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Gender, Unconscious Bias, and Cultural Competency.
Mariah Hayden is the Executive Director of New Life Village, a mission-based housing community serving diverse families impacted by trauma and foster care.
