About the Presenter:
Captain Timika Lindsay has served as the Chief Diversity Officer for the Naval Academy since 2017. In this capacity, she serves as the senior advisor to the Superintendent on all matters regarding Inclusion and Diversity, Equal Opportunity and Equal Employment Opportunity. Prior to her arrival in Annapolis, MD, CAPT Lindsay served as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Communications and Information Systems (N6), U.S. SEVENTH Fleet (C7F), where she was responsible for providing communications to all transiting Navy ships transiting the Western Pacific and strengthening relationships with over 30 countries in that region.
A native of Paulsboro, NJ, CAPT Lindsay graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1992 and holds two Master of Science degrees. She has also served as Protocol Officer and later Senior Admissions Counselor/Senior Minority Admissions Counselor, significantly contributing to the Naval Academy’s most diverse class on record at that time.
CAPT Lindsay’s awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Iraq Campaign Medal and the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal.
CAPT Lindsay is the proud mother of Eric Jr. (NAPS ’21) and Elise (USNA ’23), making them the first black mother-daughter to attend USNA.
