Unpacking Systematic Racism & Privilege Without Blame, Defense & Anger: Road Toward Understanding & Healing

  March 24, 2021   1pm EST/11am CST/10am PST

Session Overview:

You may have heard these comments before, “I came from humble beginnings and I had to work hard to get where I am today!” “I didn’t do that to your people (blacks) so why should I pay for what happened?” “Why can’t we just move on?”  The tones of defensiveness, anger and denial resound throughout these responses, providing little hope there will ever be reconciliation.  Biases and a lack of understanding continue to grow in this gap where our world defines respect based on the color of one’s skin.  But what if we asked the question, “If you could change it, what would you do?” and move towards actions of education, empathy, engagement and empowerment to unpack the systemic racism that exists in our society.
