While celebrating Thanksgiving, we learned of the horrific acts in Mumbai. We watched CNN for hours following the carnage while we prayed for the safety of the innocent victims of this senseless act of violence. We called family members to check on them. And then we saw the pictures of the victims. We saw the pictures of the young rabbi and his wife who died and left behind a toddler, now safe with grandparents. We saw the pictures of the 13-year-old who had traveled to India with her father and is now gone. As the stories of the victims come out, there is more sadness and anger at the loss of human life and for those who were wounded physically and in their hearts.
As we give thanks for the blessings in our lives, our hearts and prayers are with the families affected by this attack and for the people of India.
